Manchester is one of the most vibrant and dynamic places in the UK. With the Championships firmly located in the city centre, participants and spectators will find a wonderful variety of things to see, do and experience.

With a wide range of hotels within minutes of MAC, competitors, officials, spectators and LEN Family will be able to enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the City centre with the convenience of an easily accessible competition and training venue.

Passports
Visitors to anywhere in the UK require a current National Passport. Nationals of some countries require an entry clearance or visa to enter the UK. You should apply at a British High Commission or Embassy in your country of residence before you travel.

Language
English is spoken throughout the UK.

Currency
Sterling is the accepted currency. Euros are not generally accepted. Credit cards are widely used, although Travellers cheques are not often accepted as a form of payment. Visitors to Manchester will have no trouble in exchanging foreign currency to Sterling as there are numerous Bureau de Change facilities around the city and all High Street banks offer a currency exchange facility.

Health Information
An International Certificate of Vaccination is not required when visiting the UK. A high standard of hygiene is generally enjoyed throughout the UK and specific precautions need not be taken.

Generally, visitors, can access emergency health care whilst in the UK. However, visitors should ensure that they travel with adequate insurance and, prior to departure from their home country, they have confirmed all relevant documents are up to date.

Tap water may be used for drinking as well as general hygiene and domestic purposes. For those who enjoy mineral water, this is widely available in shops, bars and restaurants.

Electrical Supply
The standard voltage throughout the UK is 230v AC, 50 Hz. A three square –pin adapter plug would be required to connect appliances brought from overseas to the domestic power supply.
